Organic Apple Growing Class

Michael Fields Agricultural Institute is hosting a workshop on organic apple tree management, grafting, and pruning. This workshop will be led by well-known organic apple grower Deirdre Birmingham.
The morning will focus on organic pest management. After lunch, we will go outside for a hands-on pruning lesson, followed by an indoor apple grafting workshop. Every participant will go home with at least one and probably two apple trees that they have just grafted, for planting this spring.
This workshop is designed for individuals and school gardeners and community gardeners who manage trees non-commercially.
