The Holland Fruit Crop Pathology Team is back again researching fungicide resistance in grape vineyards in Wisconsin. We need your help to collect samples from across the state to ensure we capture all grape growing regions.  Samples of interest are powdery mildew and downy mildew for FRAC 11/QoI resistance. All results will be shared with participants.

Vineyards can participate in two ways:

1. Mail-In Collection Kit
We can mail a collection kit directly to your vineyard—it’s a simple write, stick, seal, and send process. Once you sign up, our team will send you a kit that includes everything you need, along with clear, step-by-step instructions.

• Each kit includes materials to collect up to four samples.
• Need more? Additional sample sets can be requested if needed.

2. On-Site Field Visit
Our research team will also be conducting scheduled field visits in July and August.

• Visits typically take 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the vineyard.
• We do our best to accommodate your schedule and specific requests.

NOTE: Our team is partnering with the University of Minnesota’s Grape Breeding Lab on a regional research project. The Minnesota team is studying downy mildew across the Midwest.

If you opt for a visit from the Wisconsin research team, we may also collect additional samples on behalf of the Minnesota team—but only with your permission. This will be arranged individually with each vineyard and will only proceed with the owner’s prior consent.
