Grape Variety Fruit Maturity Evaluation – September 24, 2019
The graphs below present fruit quality data Brix, TA, and pH from berries sampled from the West Madison Agricultural Research Station (WMARS) in Madison, WI, as of September 23rd. Cultivars Brianna, Itasca, and La Crescent were harvested the week of 9/9 and 9/16, respectively. Heavy rains experienced during the weekend of 9/21 resulted in significant increase of berry splitting for cultivars Petite Pearl and Crimson Pearl in the research vineyard in Southern Wisconsin.
