Cold Climate Grape Cultivar Fruit Quality Report September 29, 2022
Every year we sample berries and track ripening levels by measuring Brix, TA, and ph to determine optimum harvest time. Below are graphs showing the progression of the berry ripening parameters at WMARS: % total soluble solids (TSS), titratable acidity (TA) concentrations, and pH. All cultivars reported here are grown in Southern Wisconsin at the West Madison Ag research station. All vines are trained on high cordon system.
Brianna was harvested on 8/29/22.
Marquette was harvested 9/9/22.
LaCrescent was harvested 9/16/22.
Frontenac was harvested 9/21/22.
